My grandson Manuel Uziel, 6 years old did something that will make my wife and me to remember him always.  When he was two years old, Manuel began to pick up clutter inside the bedroom; when he wakes up in the morning (Manuel sleeps with his Lola Ann) he will crouch, watch his sleeping grandma and hug her gently.  At several times, when his grandma or I are sleeping Manuel will avoid making noise; and/or will keep you away in a distance.  At times, when I’m planting, or feeding the fish and fowls Manuel will come to my side, and do/imitate what I’m doing.  This made me to enjoy more my farm drill and Manuel is enjoying too.

As Manuel grows, he displays other housekeeping discipline and warm hearted affection became his constant norm.  This all started when he became observant in our daily farm drills and housekeeping of my wife, his lola Mama Ann.  I am certain that children imitate most of what they see in us, expressions and actions.

While Manuel dwells with us, we help him to see God clearly.  Gradually by saying a short, simple and appreciative prayer before meal times, before bedtime, and a good morning prayer.  I am convinced that our image as Manuel’s guardians will make him closer to God.  If we’re harsh or uncaring, they’re likely to see God that way too.

Definitely, my wife and I will miss Manuel so much.  Dear God thank You for bringing Manuel into our lives.  With Manuel Uziel comes peace of mind, heart and soul; laughter, love and faith in God.
